Lok Sabha Election 2024 Results: Counting of Votes Underway

After a Marathon Six-Week Phase Voting

After a marathon six-week, seven-phase voting process, the votes for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 are being counted today. The Election Commission of India (ECI) is overseeing the counting process, which began at 8 am across the country. Over 930 million voters exercised their franchise in the elections, held from April 11 to May 25, 2024.

Preliminary Results Available Online

The ECI has begun sharing preliminary results online through its website and mobile application. These results provide real-time updates on the vote count and the leading candidates in each constituency. The final results are expected to be announced later today.

The Lok Sabha elections are India's largest democratic exercise, with over 8,000 candidates contesting from various political parties and independent groups. The results will determine the composition of the 17th Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian Parliament.
